Quite some time ago, it was always though that salt is something that is depleted from our bodies. Naturally, it makes sense that we would need to have more salt. Without salt, it is common to feel hungry, right? As it turns out, what we all have been told for many years could be wrong, according to new research. What this research is showing is that salt may actually cause us to become more hungry. One study found that salt actually led an increase of breakdown in muscle tissue. I am seriously shocked by the results of this study.

I love eating salty foods. However, knowing that salt is destroying muscle tissue doesn’t really make that ingredient a big selling point. Of course, I want to wait until more is confirmed as this is just one study. The results of the study do make you think about how strange it is that salt could be doing the reverse of what we’ve thought it did for hundreds of years. It is still amazing to think that these results were only found now. I wonder what other information about ingredients that we love will come out changing soon enough. What I would want to know is how this affects different activity levels. For example, someone who is running quite often would need to replenish more their salt than someone who did not.

Salt still leaves the body, I don’t want anyone thinking that this study means salt stays in your body literally forever. There is another part of this study that I wanted to go into because it gets weirder. Imagine that you are eating a salty food maybe chips, crackers, or something similar. Chances are, you will be reaching for your drink very quickly after eating salty foods. However, this study, which was done on Russian cosmonauts, shows that salt actually made them less thirsty. I’m still looking into more on this study but the results so far are astounding. Who would have ever thought that salt could make someone less thirsty. I admit that I am a big soda drinker and I always thought that salt was there for the taste. It stands to reason that you should try to adhere to daily recommendations. I would think that you don’t want to cut out salt entirely but you don’t want to only eat salty foods.

Why Your Fitness Class is Going to Get Quieter

Have you ever been to those fitness classes where it feels like your ears are going to start bleeding? The music is pumping so loud over the sound system that you can barely hear yourself think! It’s frustrating to try and tune out the music for just a second to hear the instructor. I’ve embarrassed myself many times trying to make out what my instructor is saying, over the music, only to fall behind the rest of the class and look like an idiot. I hate standing near the front of my classes to hear the instructor behind me as I have a weird issue with large groups of people standing behind me, it just makes me nervous. Yes, I was that student that always sought out the coveted back of the class seat! One company wants to make sure that each person in a fitness class has their own options, and it’s off to an amazing start. Primarily, this technology took off big time in dance clubs all across the world. I’ve been dancing only a few times in my life and what always led me to call it an early night was the loud music, so obnoxious. We all know the heroes that we often hear so much about. Yes, they are fictional but they still carry a level of interest that keeps us all wanting to see their latest movie or comic book adventure. However, in Illinois there is a man that I would definitely call a superhero, he might not have a cape but he doesn’t need one. The superhero that we are talking about wasn’t born on another planet, he has no arch enemy but he still inspiring millions to take the right steps in life. For most men, the bad energy that comes with receiving word that you have been diagnosed with cancer is the start of the finish line. I would imagine that it would be hard not to feel completely hopeless, in the face of such a devastating illness.

Brad Vinyard had to hear those painful words that no person should ever want to hear, that they have cancer. While some would take the doctor’s words as a death sentence, this is where Brad knew he needed to fight back. Dedicating himself to weightlifting, not only did Vinyard beat the cancer but he would also go on to set weightlifting records. Now, while setting a record in the sport of weightlifting is certainly no small accomplishment, something made Vinyard’s path there that much tougher, he only has one leg. If you are under the mindset that having one leg eliminates the quality of life that you have, you might need to have a talk with Brad Vinyard, his has done things that we all wish we could do, never letting a disability hold him back.

There is no arguing that Brad Vinyard is a fighter, while he may practice the good word, he has won battles that would break most men. Not one to take his story and not use it to inspire others, Vinyard also speaks around his home state. If you haven’t heard about this man before, his story is one that does require a thorough reading of. Speaking of reading, Vinyard has also made into a book called Superheroes Are Everywhere. Learning about everything that Brad Vinyard has had to endure, in order to live the life that he has now was a journey that was filled with roadblocks. Writing this out, I do need to say that I have spent the better part of last week in a mental fog. Do you ever just have those weeks were things feel so out of place, even though nothing has changed? I have lived this way quite a few times and reading the story of Brad Vinyard has snapped me out of it, as you read this. I hope that maybe this post helps you too, someone in life always has it tougher than you do, it’s important to keep that in mind when something doesn’t go your way. Of course, I wouldn’t go giving Brad any special treatment, he is getting along much better than a lot of people I know, he is a true inspiration. Why Starving Yourself Isn’t that Great

It seems like an easy trap to fall into, if you stay busy enough, you can just not eat and be fine, which is totally wrong. I get it, we are all busy people and sometimes sitting down for a meal is just not in the cards. I’m not one to preach about anything, as I am one of the worst people, when it comes to scheduling my meals. My problem comes down to focus, when I am working on something, it is almost like I can’t rest until I know the project is done. Being that I am naturally on the hyper side, I tend to develop a lot of projects that need to be worked on, throughout the day. Sure, I will never miss a dinner but sometimes lunch and breakfast are meals that I have to admit I skip. I’ll be sure that I quit making those past mistakes, after reading about just how bad starving yourself can be. I want to note real quick that I am talking about occasional missing of meals, if you have a condition that is worse than this, please consider talking to someone and getting help.

What happens when you decide that you don’t want to eat breakfast is that vital nutrients that your body wants, they don’t end up getting. When the body revolts against this is through keeping you not on the top of your game, it’s a trade type of situation where no one wins. I know that after finding out just how bad it is, I won’t be missing out on any important meals, with only the sound of a growling stomach to keep me comfort. In a situation where you aren’t eating, there isn’t anything bad with keeping your favorite foods around, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks of your habits. Sometimes, having your favorite meal nearby could be the only way that you are going to eat that breakfast. Take some time to find out what foods you really love over the rest and get to eating them so that you stay healthy. We could be seeing the bygone days of weight machines, instead loading up buildings with these electrical pulse devices, looking like something more out of the Matrix than anything else. Could we soon be faced with a world full of people who are in perfect shape, just from sitting in some machine for thirty minutes, that remains to be seen. Coffee and Protein Are Being Paired Together

In the mornings, there isn’t any drink that I crave more than a hot cup of coffee. The fresh aroma, mixed with the caffeine and temperature of this classic drink wakes me up like none other. A legitimate gripe that my love for coffee has given me is that it kills my appetite. Unlike normal people, I don’t just stop at my one cup, in the morning hours. There is something about dense foods that have me needing to sit down, I’ve always been that way. Even though I would consider it to be in the earlier stages of development, there are no shortage of manufacturers willing to slap together a coffee, layered with protein. I even saw there a commercial on, during those nighttime channel surfing sessions, that showed that 5 Hour Energy is set to add protein to their already crazy popular mini-sized drinks.

Double check, in order to realize that you need a base of coffee, not all protein that is coffee flavored, otherwise you won’t have the added energizing bonus of a caffeinated supplement. Whether it be in ice cream, blended with milk and sugar, or just about any other way you could think of, I will always be a huge coffee fan. I’m now even able to cut out certain supplement, as what I need is already in most of the coffee proteins that are available. With the protein being caffeinated, you will need to avoid going over the limit, regarding how much caffeine you are able to handle.

Load the blender up with the following: strawberries, apple slices, raspberries, and a tomato. I know it is gross but you need to get antioxidants and the tomato is full of them. Better yet, all of the sugars in this fruit blend will overpower the tanginess of a tomato.

When it comes time to choose a blender, you don’t have to have all of the bells and whistles. You can select a juicer, which is better for strictly making smoothies. I have chosen to get a blender in my home because I also enjoy making milkshakes as well. You can be as creative as you want with the smoothies of your choosing. A great way to sneak in the foods that we should all be eating, blending them into a drink just makes it much easier to get the vitamins and minerals that we can miss out on. No longer for the rich or health nuts, making smoothies in the home is a viable option.

Newer Composition Scales Tracking Body Fat Indexes

Wow, technology has really helped to cause some major eases of life! I remember having to watch an old red line and an analog set of numbers, now it seems like that they have thought of everything. I had seen word of scales that were futuristic coming out for release, I was positive that it would take decades before I ever was able to buy such crazy technology. I was on Amazon and when I saw how cheap scales were going for, I had to reconsider not grabbing one right away. The problem that I have with the scales of yesteryear are that, while providing an accurate measure of how much you weigh, they leave out crucial details.

If you are taking the scales word for the truth, you are going to be missing out on other important measurements that need to be taken. Going by weight, as your sole indication of how your body is responding to exercise and diet is a broken system that won’t get you too far. Using body mass index is another measurement but don’t use this system if you are a weightlifter, or have a lot of muscle on your person, it will recognize you as overweight or, even obese! A good indicator of how well or poorly your fitness efforts are being used would be body fat percentages. Just a short while ago, you would have had to get some funky looking mechanism to read how much body fat you had, now they are putting the technology seamlessly into these newer weight scales. I welcome the addition of such cool findings when I go to weigh myself.

The more that I have learned about the right ways to gain weight, the less I have found myself heading into the bathroom to get on that old scale, it is starting to not be able to serve a purpose for me. Yes, I do like to see how bulks are going by weighing myself but when it comes to trying to drop some blubber, old scales don’t work the same way for me. I can’t wait to try and order up one of these newer models of weight information technology and see how my body fat measurements fluctuate. By knowing more than I did with older scales, it would make life much easier to see new layers of detail that weren’t there before. What else I have been blown away by is how scales can now track your weigh ins, on a basis that you choose.

I could see this spelling disaster for those who are tempted to keep weighing themselves all of the time, those folks will need to take it one day at a time. Could Pickle Juice End Muscle Cramps?

Don’t be sour, we are only speaking about a connection between pickles and cramping, achy and sore muscles. I am someone who had their first pickle at 28, if you can believe that! I can’t believe that I was missing out on such a tasty and healthy food this whole time.
